Shadow Knight now available on ebook!

A Boy with No Name…A Girl with Too Many.

Iris Pentagen’s life is a ticking bomb—she has to die on her seventeenth birthday. Her death will be short, but long enough to pierce the veil and open her eyes to the spirits around her. With enemies circling in to control her and harness her power, she’s on the run to survive.

Knick is a shadow—an elite knight born to protect Iris—and he will stop at nothing to keep her alive even if it means defying his masters within the Order of Shadows. At odds with the Order and chasing down leads to determine who is behind a series of attacks on Iris and her family, Knick and Iris discover that their bonds are stronger than ever…but will they be strong enough to withstand the unimaginable power awakening within Iris?

“Being a teenager is difficult. Your parents expect you to work at their company as a corporate necromancer, when you really want to be a pastry chef. I loved how the normal meshed with the supernatural in this young adult urban fantasy set in an alternate version of my hometown of Kansas City. The connection between Iris and her shadow knight was endearing, with her empath abilities amping up the emotion of the scenes. I loooved the titular hero (and loved the story behind this technically nameless person’s name, too.) I really enjoyed how their romantic relationship developed: Iris, with false bravado, taking the lead. The idea of having a knight of your own really taps into childhood and adolescent fantasies, although Iris is certainly a badass in her own right. There is a mystery in Iris’s past, and I was relieved at one revelation and then immediately upset but what happened next. This had a really satisfying ending, but it left me wanting to read the next one!” 5 Star Amazon Review

“Another exciting read from J.R. Boles! This sweet and exciting story showcases strong character relationships and the beauty of love defying all odds. J.R. is the queen when it comes to intriguing twists regarding magic and how the world works. Love that this story is set locally, right here in my home city! 🙂 Can’t wait to read more about Jax. He seems like a really interesting character.” 5 Star Amazon Review
